Race Results from the Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ - Corry sent us her results from this past weekend's events!
Corry recaps, "Saturday's main race started out good... I was in the second to last row, so I let the pack go into the first two turns and kind of pile themselves up, while I made sure i had enough distance between them and me to react to anything I needed to. You don't win races on the first turn! :) Then I started to work my way up through the field as drivers tangled up or wrecked... A few laps in, I was racing against Cenni when we both hit the big step-up jump. He landed a little crooked and got into my front left side/wheel. About 3 seconds later, another driver got into the same side/wheel, and then the front end started feeling funny. I pushed through it, after asking my spotter if I had a flat tire... But about two more laps into the race, the a-arm that had bent on the initial contact finally snapped in half, and I exited the track as quickly as I could (Before I caused a caution flag). Our day was over at that point... I had been initiated into the Pro 4 class!"
Sunday: "We got everything fixed Saturday night and were ready to go by Sunday morning for qualifying again. I went out and focused on being smooth, and also was practicing taking inside lines as much as I could. Not the fastest lines for qualifying, but I needed to get them down... I felt smooth and the truck felt good, and I kept it on all 4's this time!"
